To dim the brightness levels, just tap the touch sensing arrows at the top of the lamp head. Because of the built in dimmer, the lamp cannot be dimmed externally at this time. The lamp is plugin operated and works with 110v - 220v outlets; you would just need to use a plug adapter to use it outside of the US, as the plug is made to fit standard US AC outlets. WHAT TO KNOW- The Lightview Pro comes packaged securely in styrofoam boxes for the head and the base and is very easy to put together. Just follow the included instruction diagram; no additional tools necessary! The lamp's height can be modified between 51 inches to as low as 24 inches on your table or work bench, by removing the additional pole piece between the head and the base.It can even be used as a clamp desk lamp with an appropriate clamp base. It has a maximum outward reach of 29 inches. The lamp weighs approximately 27 pounds, mostly thanks to the sturdy weighted base, which measures 6 x 11 inches.
